Amber joined Chester Harley-Davidson in January 2011. She brings with her a wealth of experience despite being only 21 years of age. Amber is a fully qualified technician, who has spent 3 years in a commercial garage repairing vehicles for a living. She has a passion for all things mechanical and is a real petrol head and enjoys messing around with cars and bikes in her spare time. An avid Everton supporter, it takes a lot to keep her in the shop when there is a game on, so if you want to talk about engines, football or real ale Amber is the girl to come and see. The next achievement on her list is to gain her bike licence and then there will be no stopping her. |

I have always had a love for motorbikes since I was very young. At the age of 6 years for my birthday Mum and Dad bought me a Minerelle 65 with a four speed gear box which I used to help my dad maintain. After I had the bike 3 years they bought me a C.R.85 which I outgrew quite quickly. I then started racing a KX 100 for 3 years. I was then given my brother’s CR 125 which I have raced for several years and won many events. I have also helped my racing buddies whilst racing myself. I have helped a friend I race with in the BYMX ( British Youth Motor Cross) so throughout my young life my Dad and I have always been very involved with the running and mechanics of motorbikes. When I left school in 2009 I was working at Bill Smiths in Chester, I was there for 15 months working Saturdays and a couple of days in the week. Then I started a college course at Wirral Met in Birkenhead where I obtained my Level 1 I.M.I. for which I was awarded Student Of The Year 2010. I am currently taking my level 2 Diploma in motorcycle maintenance and repair. I started working for Chester Harley Davidson, BMW and Chester Superbikes in April 2010 and I am enjoying working on all aspects of motorbikes. |

Steven Creaser came to Chester Harley-Davidson in September 2006 after spending many years working with motorcycles. Steve has worked with a wide variety of motorcycles from nitrous powered scooters to award winning custom bikes. He owned his first bike at the age of 13 and has progressed through sports bikes and now owns one of Harley’s all time classics – a Dyna FXR. Steve recalls working on Harleys throughout his years as a bike mechanic: “You can tell the difference with Harley’s, they’re always immaculate and nicely customised, each one is different. They’ve come a long way over the years, having worked on old Iron Heads up to modern Softails, you can see the progression of the engines. They’re much, much more sophisticated and really great to ride too. I think its great that you can buy a standard Harley and convert the engine to a much larger capacity, if that wasn’t enough, you can even put stroker kits on them, it’s a great idea!” Steve enjoys track days but is interested in a different kind of power since moving to Chester Harley-Davidson. “I’m looking forwards to being involved with the V-rod Destroyer Drag bike. I saw it over in the Isle of Man, it was pretty rapid, and loud! I’ve seen the coverage in various bike mags too, so being a part of that is something I couldn’t resist” |

Cycling in the Delamere Forest is another favourite pastime of hers. Cara loves helping people, so she is definitely the girl to see if you are looking for Harley clothing at Chester. |

I left my home country Poland three years ago after obtaining a university degree in English as a Foreign Language. I arrived in Britain in search of When I first started at the dealership I was new to the world of motorcycling with no experience of riding. Having spent a lot of time with Harley enthusiasts and advising on their riding gear I began to recognise and appreciate the great passion for motorcycles that Harley riders share. I hope that one I day I get my bike licence and start experiencing the thrill of riding for myself. |

I have had over 20 yrs experience of the retail car industry in both Sales and Management. A family business running a Ford Motor Company franchise certainly gave me a good grounding in meeting customers expectations! I’ve been a lifelong biker and always had a motorbike to ride on the road and competed in both Motocross for 20 yrs and Short Circuit road racing with classics such as Triumph Short Stroke's and Big Bore Norton's. 3 Yrs racing the Classic Motorbike National Championships yielded a a number of 1st places and Cheshire Center A.C.U. Classic Champion in 1995. I ride an 1800 C.V.O. Screamin' Eagle Street Glide and love the way it suits my riding style. I've had Sportster 1200, Dyna and Heritage Softail Classic before this as well as Buell, so you could say I was hooked! Motorbikes, Classic Cars, Cooking and Music are my main interests and of course, working with a great team here at Chester. |

Keith’s passion for bikes has always been with him, from the early 1960’s, when he rode BSA’s and Triumph’s in local Motocross events, in his native Derbyshire and surrounding area, right through to the present day. An engineer by training, Keith found a sales career through the Agricultural Industry and progressed to Castrol Lubricants, of GTX fame, selling cutting oils and machine tool lubricants to manufacturing companies throughout the UK. Bikes eventually became the dominant interest in Keith’s life and as a result, a change of work environment, Keith becoming part of the Sales Team with Pidcock Motorcycles, at their BMW Dealership, near Nottingham. Having re-married in 2005 and moved to the North-West, Keith decided he should be working nearer to home and joined the Chester Harley-Davidson Dealership in February 2006. |

Kirk joined Harley-Davidson over 10 years ago and since then he has worked at dealerships across the country gaining vast experience of the American classic and the passionate community of people that follow it. “As a technician I had always wanted to specialise in something. To try and explain what attracted me to Harley-Davidson I would say it is like a watchmaker saying he prefers working on and repairing an antique Rolex to a £2.99 watch someone bought in a pub,” explains Kirk. Kirk has become well known over the years for his work on some major projects that involved getting the best performance out of a Harley. These included being part of the team that in 1999 built the most powerful Sportster in Europe. Also during the time he spent working at Chester’s former Harley dealership Kirk played a major role in the Chariot of Fire project, which involved the transformation of a standard Road King into a 1700 cc bike that left a Honda Fireblade struggling in its wake as it accelerated to 70mph. Having played a major role in driving through a new era for Harley-Davidson in Chester with the setting up of the country’s first standalone authorised parts and service centre, he now takes a front seat in driving forward Chester Harley-Davidson’s Sales Centre. “I was delighted to have been given the opportunity to be part of building and developing a new service centre for Harley-Davidson owners across the region, I am now even more delighted to be able to offer our customers the opportunity to be able to buy either a new or used Harley or Buell from our Sales Centre, another Harley first, while the development of the new dealership building takes shape next door.” says Kirk. “I am also very fortunate to be working as part of such a great team of knowledgeable and dedicated Harley experts who I am certain will play a fundamental role in providing a first class service to our customers,” he adds. Kirk manages to indulge in his passion for American engineering by driving a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. |

Chester Harley-Davidson marks the start of Myrtle’s journey into the world of the legendary motorcycle and she is looking forward to meeting the people that help create the legend. Myrtle has run a successful newsagent in Oxton on the Wirral for the past 18 years and now she joins her husband Paul in setting up the foundations for the new dealership. “What I am really looking forward to is building up the social side of the business. I am very aware that there is a strong community that surrounds the Harley brand and I am really looking forward to developing great relations with out customer base,” explains Myrtle. Although Myrtle did once own and ride a Honda 50 - it is horses rather than motorcycles that her family is famed for. In 1928, Myrtle’s great grandfather, Joe Dodd, trained one of the only 100-1 winners of the Grand National – Tipperary Tim. However according to Myrtle we need to watch this space as getting her bike licence is something that may well be happening in the near future. |

Paul has ambitious plans to put Chester Harley-Davidson on the map and create a dealership that not only provides high levels of service but also a friendly environment where bikers will like to meet. Paul’s career, as an agricultural engineer heavily involved in dealership development for companies such as Massey Ferguson, Harvester International and Case, has taken him all over the world. However, after spending the past six years working in Kenya as the general manager for the Mack truck, Komatsu and Massey Ferguson dealer for the whole of East Africa, Paul is returning to the UK to set up Chester Harley-Davidson. “I feel honoured to be associated with the Harley-Davidson brand and it is a very exciting time for us at the moment,” says Paul. Paul is determined to make customers feel at home in the new dealership, he says, “What we are aiming to achieve is to implement a level of service that gives our customers confidence in what we do. We also want to create an informal atmosphere that will enable people to meet up at the dealership and share their passion for bikes,” he adds. During his career Paul has always made it a priority to develop longstanding relationships with his customers, which is something he wishes to replicate in Chester Harley-Davidson. He explains, “In agriculture you get to know your customers because they need to know they can rely on you and so over time you develop a relationship based on trust and I want it to be the same with Harley customers – they should become more than just names on a page, they should become familiar faces and friends.” Paul currently does not own a Harley, however he does have a bike licence, although he admits to being slightly rusty, and so we could soon see Chester Harley-Davidson’s managing director riding his very own fatboy! |
