Good afternoon Chris,
It's been a couple of weeks since you carried out the work on my 2008 FLSTF Fatboy. Sorry for the delay in writing, but I wanted to put a few miles on it first.
The amount of work required, for what was essentially a cosmetic flaw was enormous. I was very apprehensive at the thought of having the rear swing arm removed, together with the primary drive, to gain access for removal of the transmission. Plus the internals, together with all of the parts which fix to the outside, made me question having the work carried out.
It's something that had been troubling me since I first discovered the problem with the transmission casing and the thought of the bike having to be stripped when it was less than a year old, has given me many sleepless nights.
I've ridden the bike a few times now, since having it back and it rides like a dream. All my worries have gone and with the stage one conversion, it goes, looks and sounds awesome. I received a warm welcome at our last Chapter meeting ( we have a brilliant new venue, "Old Orleans" in the centre of Birmingham which has helped the chapter and boosted the restaurant's takings ). Being back in loud club again feels good ( and safer on the road ).
Would you please convey my sincere thanks, to everyone at Chester Harley-Davidson, especially to the very helpful guy who collected my bike and returned it valeted and polished, and who calmed my anxiety and to everyone involved in carrying out the warranty work and fitting the stage one items?
It's a bit of a ride from Birmingham to Chester, but I'm happy that I made the right choice over other HD dealers nearer to home.
