Dear Kirk,

I am writing to congratulate you and your team on a fantastic job well done.

You may recall that three weeks ago I was a few days away from picking-up a new SESG in spiced rum. For some reason my wife and I got into a fight one night about comfort Vs sportiness during touring activities and who knows what else and overnight she'd convinced me that an Ultra or Electraglide with tour pack was just the ticket. The next day I awake like a robot, placed a call to Nigel, canceled the order and started looking for a tour bike which three days later I found by way of a 2005 SEEG, fully loaded with Stage 1 etc, one owner, as new and from a different dealer and at a great price. So, I place my deposit and a few days later pay my money and I pick-up the new to me bike and away we go. I get home ear to ear. No, it's not super fast and yes the suspension is a little soft, but so what I've just saved close to £10k, it looks the bomb and my insurance is peanuts Vs the SESG.

Next day I awake and take Maxine out and oh please help me as it's now noticeably slower, much softer and the front end shakes on certain roads. Max gets back home pulling a face and I'm now looking at how much to work the bike into what I want. Six hours later and I'm sitting with my in-laws drowning my sorrows no further way forward and so off to bed. I wake robot like once again. Bingo! I've found the answer and run to the garage. Kick-up the new to me bike, take it over to see Chester Harley-Davidson, ride-up, walk into the showroom and Nigel's already waiting for me. I ask for forgiveness, Nigel smiles and so the negotiations start. Can I have my bike back mister? Yes you can. Can you take this one as part-ex? Yes I can. Will you allow me the same deal? Yes I can. Will you apply my lost deposit to this sale? Yes I will.

That was seven days ago and in the last two days I picked-up the new SESG and handed over the SEEG. So far we've done 250 or so miles and it's everything and more I could wish for.

This letter is not to congratulate Harley-Davidson on building a great bike, it's about showing my appreciation that you and your staff embody and deliver on what a true, fully functioning team should look like. My dealings with Nigel were first rate prior to and post cancellation and that in itself allowed me to plead mia culpa and to move forward and purchase the bike I originally wanted. Nigel's not alone, Geoff, Sian, Chris and anyone else who I spoke with, nodded or smiled back including yourself who got me hooked originally, well done one and all.

So, here's to many more miles, smiles and nods supported by what is probably the friendliest, most supportive dealer one could wish to have so close by and the one I choose to call my local.
